I can't sleep. It is Friday, I am by myself in my apartment for reasons not my own, I am a little annoyed, but then I signed on to Yahoo and found messages from Adam from a week ago. That made me feel better. He was just saying hi and that he got my birthday pictures I sent him from when everyone was together on that Friday. At first I wasn't sure if I should send them or not because I didn't want him to feel left out but I also didn't want it to be like, Ha ha look what you missed, because three of his good friends were there (Silas, Mike and JD - and actually JD is his cousin, but anyway). Yeah, that's all I got for that.
My room is still a mess. However, it is not entirely my fault, as there are technically two people living in this room, and four people in the apartment, even though only three of us signed the lease. I don't mind Drake's stuff being here at all, he is my boyfriend and I love him dearly, but my room just gets messier faster when there are two of us throwing stuff on the floor or on the bookshelf, etc. I need a bigger room.
I really need to decide what I am doing this summer. I am seriously considering going back to Minnesota just so I don't have to pay rent anymore. I don't know. We'll see. I don't know where I would put any of my stuff, that is pretty much the only thing keeping me from moving home at all - my STUFF.
A few nights ago Teetz and I were going to Wal-Mart and he has the James Blunt cd and he played me a song that made me BAWL. But I love it.

I think for my wedding - though I really should start saying "our" because "my" is so possessive of me, and it would be Drake's too, not just mine - I really want purple and silver and black to be the colors, though I am sure this will change many times and even Drake said I would change my mind most likely by the time this day actually comes. But I found the most gorgeous wedding dress - also in purple! I am not sure I would want to get married in anything but a white dress, but who knows, this purple one is so beautiful. Good thing I have a while to decide.

Ramblings
It's not even midnight and I am pretty tired, that's part of the being sick thing though. This is going to be random so deal with it.
Sometimes I don't think people realize how deep my trust issues run. It's not something I can control and I can't help when I feel the way I do or freak out about things. Right now that is how I am programmed and it just happens. I need reassurance that things are okay and that I am loved - not all the time, just sometimes. There are times when I read to much into one thing or another, but I just think that people need to be a little more considerate sometimes and while they make think they're words/actions are saying one thing, to me they are saying something completely different, thus the worry. I don't like worrying about stuff, but I also don't like not knowing what is going on. I also don't like waiting on people.
Sometimes I want to chop off all my hair just to freak people out. I think I'd die though, because I love my hair so much. You'd love your hair so much too if yours looked as good as mine.
I don't have a lot of girl friends because girls are dramatic and stupid, as illustrated tonight when I shared the Crazy Rachel story with my roommate Bryan. He had to hear the story in order to differentiate between Crazy Rachel, Crazy Jessika, and Crazy Jenny. I do however, have four of the best girl friends in the world (and that's pretty much my limit, four), thus they are the ones who are going to be in my wedding.
The new people moved in upstairs smoke a lot of pot. Bryan and I were sitting in his room and could smell it soooo strongly. Now they are in the stairwell right above my bedroom, giggling. I hate when guys giggle. Laugh like a man, damnit. And now I smell weed again. Gross. I don't think anyone is home upstairs, because these guys are just sitting in the stairwell throwing stuff at the door upstairs, I think they're waiting for the people who live there to come home. They're really starting to piss me off.
I started watching Friends again, and am on season six. I love this show. Almost as much as I love Buffy, which I also have to watch again.
I have also decided that once again I need to lose weight. People argue with me on this one a lot, but I don't like hearing, "But you're a healthy weight" - by this I mean, when someone says "You're healthy" they really mean you have some meat on your bones, thus you are fat. I will still be healthy, I just won't be flabby. Gross.
Do what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it. Please.

BIRTHDAY!!!! Almost
Okay, so it is not actually my birthday yet, but tonight we're going out to celebrate and I am super excited because everyone is going to be there - Britt, Teetz, Drake, Kayleen, JohnRoss, Bailie, the list goes on and on. Silas and Mike might even be coming down, though it is not confirmed, as Silas has something for work to do tomorrow, but we will see. He hasn't missed the last two birthdays, so he said he would definitely want to come to this one. There are even a few on the guest list who we are questioning whether or not they will show, but we'll see. Either way, it'll make for an interesting evening. Now, I know not everyone will show up at the same time and that's fine, but as long as I get to see everyone who matters and there is no drama, it will be great. I am sure many of you recall (having either seen it firsthand or heard it secondhand) last year's dramatic beginning: Crazy Rachel flipped out because Silas was there and screamed at me at Woody's. I am not even sure if Crazy Rachel is still in Lincoln, and either way she is not invited since I haven't spoken to her in months, so that won't be a problem. All the other crazies in my life have been phased out, thank goodness, so all we're left with are the nice normal fun friends who have been with me through thick and thin - no bail-ers allowed.
We're going to Sandy's first, because it's my favorite bar, though Woody's and Duffy's are right up there as well. The Spigot has become our final stop for some reason, I am not sure why. I love that place though and it's usually not as crowded, especially near last call, because it is farther down O Street and it's difficult for really drunk people to walk that far. One of the bartenders from The Spigot makes this really good drink called Salty Nuts, and it kind of looks like Pepto Bismol...which by the way is such a funny name and even funnier if you say it five times fast...but it is one of my favorite drinks. If you don't like milk or cream with your alcohol though, then this drink is not for you (TEETZ!) because there's a fair amount in it. Very good though, except only one of the guys knows how to make it and that makes me sad. Last time, when Teetz, Britt, Amanda and I went there, near last call we were just having the bartenders throw random shit together and we'd try it, there was one that was really good at first, but the after taste was seriously like one of those evergreen car ait fresheners. Yuck. All in all though, The Spigot bartenders are very adventurous and will come up with some crazy concoctions, just ask. And be hott too, that helps. I guess that's also why I like Duffy's a lot. Drake pointed out on Drunk Monday that Duffy's prides itself on it's mixed drinks, which is true, look at the sizes of them! (aside from the fishbowls of course, those are just huge anyway). But even the shots are huge, unlike Brothers, which is such a fucking joke. I hate that place, I refuse to go there at all. It's a huge frat party, and I am definitely over going to those - though Rugby house, Blue Heaven, and 33rd and Orchard provided many great memories for my underage drinking career.
I have to work at five, boooo. But Steve is MOD tonight, so I am hoping that he will be in the best mood possible (meaning he doesn't have to deal with stupid people or questions) and we will get out of there at 9:01. If Shaun is working, this probably won't happen, because he never knows when to stop once a customer is no longer interested. On Wednesday night he was talking to some guy for over an hour, and the guy still left ten minutes after we'd closed, having purchased NOTHING. Ugh, it is horrible working with some people, so I am bossy to them and they leave me alone and don't ask me stupid questions because they are scared. It works out nicely.
I am still looking forward to moving out of this stupid apartment in April, but a good amount of the tension existing prior to last week is slowly fading away. It helps that Bryan and I are speaking again, something we haven't done for about five months now. He and I are very up and down, we will get mad and be annoyed at each other for a few months/weeks/days whatever, then out of the blue start being nice to each other again until the next things happens. Maybe this time things will stay on the up-and-up a little longer because I enjoy my big comfy bed and like sleeping in it, as opposed to sleeping on my futon in Cather. We have to sleep on that because the mattress on the Cather bed hurts Drake's back - unfortunately the futon hurts my back, so usually I end up sleeping there and Drake gets the bumpy futon to himself. I think it also helps that I don't have to be awake so fucking early anymore, pretty much I don't have to get up before noon (except on Tuesdays, when I will have to wake up at seven for work) so noise doesn't bother me anymore because I am not trying to go to sleep with all the stupid video game racket. That's not to say others in this apartment don't have to get up earlier than me, but one inconsiderate favor deserves another. Invest in earplugs. Not my problem anymore.
And thanks JohnRoss for the wedding dance info. That's a lot of partner changing, from the parents and the kids dancing to the wedding party and blah blah. Luckily, (and unlucky in some sense) my bridal party is a bit smaller than I first thought it would be. I originally intended to have a maid of honor and then five bridesmaids, but of course crazy people don't belong in my wedding (and since we're not friends anymore it makes sense she wouldn't be involved, but we already covered that in my birthday talk, so moving on...) so that has contributed to the smaller number of bridesmaids. Plus, it won't be as expensive having a small wedding party, because that includes cost of transportation, gifts, food, etc. I don't even know why I am talking about this, it's not going to happen for at least another year and a half, but I am a girl and this has pretty much been planned out since I was about five years old. Think: Monica, on 'Friends', except I am not quite up to her level of craziness. I will probably trip and fall much like she did the morning she woke up and came running out of her room shouting "I'm getting married today!" but I am not nearly as neurotic as she is. Still, I have my people and my colors and the fun stuff picked out. Now I just need to find the money to pay for it! I was reading either Glamour or Cosmo the other day and they did a few articles on weddings and this one couple spent $400,000 on theirs! That's crazy! The girl was like, I'm an only child and a daddy's girl, so he went all out. Well, I too am an only-child and a grandpa's girl through and through, but never in a million years would I expect anyone in my family to fork over $400,000 for MY wedding. Yes, financial help would be greatly appreciated, but there is no way I would ever feel right about taking that amount of money and spending it on myself (well, and Drake too since it would be his wedding too) unless it was money I earned myself. Also in which case, if it was money I earned myself, at least half of it would be spent at Louis Vuitton. I MUST have this one trunk I found, it is absolutely gorgeous. Then of course I would have to spend the other half on a vacation just so I could use the trunk, but anyway...
Yes, now off to shower and slowly but surely start getting ready for work. Only a few more hours and we'll be able to party hard! In the immortal words of Sherry Moon as Baby Firefly in "House of 1000 Corpses" (and also Silas and Adam, since) "We like to get fucked up and do fucked up shit!" Okay, maybe not exactly, but we're going to drink and laugh and play pool and foosball and have fun and relax. I love my friends.

Not Much Has Changed
Coming back here a few days early was an unfortunate, but necessary thing. It has reached new levels of intelligence in this place, wow. Last night I was unpacking and stuff and oh dear lord, the giggling. There were random girls here who pretty much just giggled and told dumb stories the whole night, then the roommates were bitching about how I don't buy anything for the apartment. Oh yes, let me run right out and buy stuff for you to use since I am rarely here and won't get much use out of it at all. I don't suppose it has occurred to them that if they hadn't been such jerks about stuff, then yes, I would buy the towels, toilet paper, etc, because I would be here more often and also use it. However, since last semester I needed to go to bed early because I had to wake up early, I slept at Cather a lot - which in itself is ridiculous because I should be able to go to sleep in the place where I am paying rent. Since I was rarely here last semester to do anything but sleep, I wasn't ever around when any of this stuff ran out, so keep bitching, I am sure it will do you a whole lot of good. If they want me to be a real bitch and pay less rent because I use the place less, then I can do that. If they had let me out of the lease when I wanted to a few months ago, this wouldn't be a problem.
That's pretty much all for right now, just something that I thought I would share because it is just so awesome. Not much to do today, just some errands and stuff, I am sure I will probably post something again later should anything interesting happen.

Happy New Year!
This is my first post of 2006 and I am actually excited for the new year to get started. There are less than six months left until I get to move out of the crappy apartment and into an apartment of my own where dishes will be washed and hair will be taken out of the drain after each shower. I am back in Lincoln now and trying to find a place to put all my new Christmas presents, all while watching FRIENDS. I thought I would make it through the whole series while I was at home, but I only made it to the third disc of season nine - there are four discs per season. I will finish the series before Drake gets back though, I swear. Then when Teetz gets back I get to start it all over him because he loves this show too. I am almost to season ten actually, just two more left of season nine. I can't help it, I love FRIENDS, and I could babble about it for a while, so I'll stop now.
Nothing much else to talk about, just taking care of some boring stuff like bills and unpacking, then possibly shopping tomorrow which will be fun, then some other stuff to take care of too with LPS and substituting in the district. Plus, My birthday is two weeks from today! I'm thinking we'll go out the weekend before, because I know I won;'t be able to wait until the weekend after, and I shouldn't have to wait, it's MY birthday, muwahaha.
Days til I get to move: 124 (this is the actual day the lease is up, I will be moved out completely before May 1st, that's for damn sure)

Home!
I am leaving this morning, just have to finish packing and I will be all set. I am very psyched to get out of here for a while, even though it seems like I am never here anyway because I stay at Cather a lot. But any time I am here is too much for me and May can not come fast enough because this apartment is still what we consider the "House of Lame". We thought it was a pretty good title, all things considered that happened within the last month or so. You know, you can only repeat the same request so many times before you get tired of saying it. But anyway, I will be at home and it will be nice, and I won't have to worry about mice and rats, or dishes left in the sink for ages, or hair in the drain. You might think it is my hair in the drain, but that would be impossible, since I don't shower here often (yes, I have actually showered in Cather this semester, gross, right?) and when I do, I actually take my hair out of the drain. It is disgusting. Mom came to the apartment with me just to grab some stuff when they were here for graduation this weekend and I instructed her to not go to any other part of the apartment because it is disgusting. She had no problem complying with me on that one. So yes, I am off to home to be with the family, and I really don't know when I will be back, because I graduated, bitches! Okay, just kidding, I will be back sometime.

And Now For Something Less Political...
I hate living in my apartment. I hate it I hate it I hate it. In case you missed it, I hate it. It puts me in such a bad mood even knowing I have to go back there, I can't stand it. I wish I had gotten a place on my own from the start, having roommates is a bad idea, especially ones who you don't care to talk to because of shit that has happened recently. To try to remedy the situation I just spend as little time there as possible, though I can't keep doing this for the next six months, it will wear me out. When my grandpa gets here on Friday I am going to talk to him about it more and see what he can do about it. He's good at negotiating, I am sure that something can be done so I don't have to live with rats and mice anymore.
On a happier note, graduation is approaching very quickly and I am excited. Shona and I are both afraid we're going to trip or something and knowing us, I wouldn't be surprised at all. And I am excited for my party too! A bunch of my friends will be there and my family too, which is what matters most. I can't wait.
Shona and I have been observing other classrooms this week. It is cool to see how other teachers organize their classrooms, and how they manage them. I also like seeing the set-ups and stuff like that. I am bummed that I won't get to see my kiddos anymore though - but I told them I would come back for the 100th Day party. Yay.
Okay, that's enough for now, especially after my last post about the death penalty which I am sure everyone will hate. Oh well. I am used to writing things that piss people off, but if you get pissed off by it, then don't read it and you will be happier (JohnRoss, this is not a comment to you about our disagreement over religion, just so you know. It is to others in general who just need to leave well enough alone but don't "get it" yet. I less than three you, JohnRoss and you are more than welcome to read this any time.)

On a happier note, graduation is approaching very quickly and I am excited. Shona and I are both afraid we're going to trip or something and knowing us, I wouldn't be surprised at all. And I am excited for my party too! A bunch of my friends will be there and my family too, which is what matters most. I can't wait.
Shona and I have been observing other classrooms this week. It is cool to see how other teachers organize their classrooms, and how they manage them. I also like seeing the set-ups and stuff like that. I am bummed that I won't get to see my kiddos anymore though - but I told them I would come back for the 100th Day party. Yay.
Okay, that's enough for now, especially after my last post about the death penalty which I am sure everyone will hate. Oh well. I am used to writing things that piss people off, but if you get pissed off by it, then don't read it and you will be happier (JohnRoss, this is not a comment to you about our disagreement over religion, just so you know. It is to others in general who just need to leave well enough alone but don't "get it" yet. I less than three you, JohnRoss and you are more than welcome to read this any time.)

Extra Stuff
On Thursday night Teetz came over after the mens basketball game and we watched Saved! because he had never seen it before. We got to talk for a while too, which was nice, because we haven't been able to do that for a really long time. Of course we played on Facebook for a while also after he told me some things about people from good ol' Kauffman. None of the things we talked about were bad by any means, more like shocking and unexpected, although not unpleasant, just things that make you go hmmmm... Anyway, he then also had the pleasure of reading Tundra's beautiful little story about him and I first hand. (If you don't know what I mean by Tundra, where have you been living, under a rock?) We got some great laughs out of the story yet again, especially after re-reading it and finding some major flaws in the writing. It's sad when people think they are good at things but really are not. But in general, it is humorous on many levels, not just because of the blatant jealousy over the situation and how things went. It is also unfortunate for people who only know warped, twisted, and crazy lies about what really happened, because those people subjected to the craziness will, in turn, go crazy. Ah well, at least the crazies have each other and the rest of us can be in peace. Teetz and I generally had many good laughs this evening, though a few scares as well - some people are definitely not photogenic.
Despite our laughter at the expense of others, we also had some serious talk as well and I told him the whole story about the living situation as of late and his advice was just that I have to be blunt and if I have to be a bitch to get my message across then so be it because not everyone is smart enough to have common sense. At least he understands how I feel, and it's nice having someone completely removed from the situation to talk to about it. And the same with Britt, too. After all, it was her couch I slept on when I had to leave the apartment the night in question just so I could actually get some fucking sleep. I really do have the best friends in the world. The only bad part I see about this shit right now is that, because I am never at the apartment, I don't get to take care of Wendall as consistently, like with his heat lamp and stuff, though I always make sure I at least get him fed even if I am not there long enough to do anything else. My room stays pretty warm, in fact I think it is the warmest room in the whole place, because there is definitely a noticable temp change when you go out of my room into the living room and kitchen and bathroom. It's so warm I didn't even bother putting the plastic shit on my windows; it doesn't need to be any more insulated or I wuld start baking. I know things will change when I graduate in terms of how often I am there, because I will be the one who can be as loud as I fucking want and not give a shit about people trying to sleep, since I won't have to get up early any more. More than likely, I still won't stay there very often though, because just being there puts me in a bad mood and I am pretty much happier anywhere else in Lincoln then when I am in that stupid place. *Shudder*.
I am still stoked about Duke kicking the shit out of Texas. There's an updated artile now on the Duke Athletics website (goduke.com). JJ Redick is pretty frickin sweet. I wish he'd add me on Facebook. I admit it, I added both Lee Melchionni and Sheldon Williams, but I can say I am friends with them. I even talked to Lee on Facebook, it was pretty cool. I can't help it, I love Duke, I bleed blue and white, I will someday hold a degree from Duke University, I will be a Cameron Crazy, my first son will be named Cameron, the list goes on...

PORTFOLIO, WHAT!
IT IS FINALLY DONE!!!!!! THIS MORNING AT ROUGHLY ONE A.M. I FINALLY COMPLETED MY EXIT PORTFOLIO FROM TEACHERS COLLEGE!!!
And yes, I am aware it is no longer called Teachers College, and instead now the College of Education and Human Sciences. However, when I was accepted it was still TC, so for TC it shall always be. The portfolio is roughly 200 pages and spans everything I have done in my methods courses, practicums, and now student teaching over the last two and a half years. I am kind of lost now, because I literally have nothing to do for the rest of the semester. It is strange, but I am so giddy. I know I bitched a lot about UNL, but I will miss it, I do miss not going to regular classes and spending time on campus, because it really is a beautiful one. However, I am ready to move on to the next phase of my life. I just don't know what is all involved in that phase yet. That's half the excitement right there.
My graduation party is going to be on Saturday following graduation, but I will let people know in person and not just through my blog.
I think it's pretty lame when people can't go to sleep in their own apartments on week nights. Apparently courtesy doesn't exist in some places anymore. Bummer.
I got to spend a few hours with Britt yesterday, something we have not been able to do in a long time. I have not laughed so hard in ages and I missed her a lot. We went to the Huskers basketball game against UAB, and unfortunately lost by one in the very last second, and now we are 5-1. It was a really good game though, but very weird not seeing Jake Muhleisen, John Turek, and Corey Simms, although we did see Simms walking around on the concourse so that was sweet. Then we did some errands and had an adventure at Wal-Mart, something that has also not happened for a very long time. I am excited to graduate if only for the fact that I will finally get to see my friends again! I miss them a lot, and I don't feel like myself without them.

Also, I did not get "Friends: The One With All Ten Seasons." Fearnot, however, because I did not have to actually buy it myself. This is how the convrsation with Mom went a couple nights ago.
Me: Mom, is there a remote remote possibility that I might be getting Friends, because if not I worked a lot of over time and got backpay from a couple months ago and would like to buy it.
Mom: (long pause) Damnit, Sarah. You're going to know everything you're getting for Christmas
Me: (loud squealing) Mom! Thankyou!Thankyou!Thankyou!Thankyou!Thankyou! But you didn't have to tell me, I just asked about a remote possiblity.
Mom: (long pause) There is a remote possibility you are getting this for Christmas.
The rest of the conversation was spent with me rattling off the best places and prices for her to get it at. I have the best momma in the world. I even said it was absolutely all I wanted, and since graduation, Christmas and my birthday were all so close together, it coukd just be one huge gift for all three. Cap and Gown Day!
Shona and I went to the Union to pick up our caps and gowns today. Wow. It is really starting to sink in that I am almost done. I have very few things left to even put in my portfolio, I only have one artifact left for one competency and then once I am done with my final observation by my site supervisor on Thursday, then that is it! I am so excited.
Brittany is the best friend ever. Last night I was really pissed about some bullshit going on at my apartment so I left and slept on her couch for a while, and even though she had to study, she didn't mind at all that I invaded her dorm room. I think it's pretty lame I can't sleep in my own apartment sometimes but I get tired of repeating myself and if people can't remember a simple request, then whatever, I'm going to be a bitch and that's that.
I love Phish Food ice cream. I think it is the best thing ever. Aside from sleep.
I saw my crazy ex-roommate yesterday when I was walking in to work. For the most part I have been lucky in avoiding the insane ones with me being mostly off-campus both living and student teaching, but sometimes I see them and for a few moments I am dumber just having been in their presence. Luckily that fades quickly when they go away like good little crazy people are supposed to. But this particular girl, just wow. It was hard not to laugh, but seriously this girl is one of the dumbest, most ignorant people you will ever meet. Coming from a small town is no excuse for the kind of ignorance she has, it is so blatant and disgusting. I know plenty of people from equally small-town Nebraska/Iowa, etc and they are no where near as ridiculous. Living with her was a trip. Wow, that's all I've got to say, just, wow.
SVU tomorrow night with Teetz! I am super excited, we have two episodes to watch. I miss Teetz a lot. That's another reason I am excited about graduation, I will get to see my people a lot more. Especially Teetz and Britt. We used to be like the Three Musketeers, now we're the Three Extremely Busy People Who Can Never Find Time To Hang Out Together. It sucks. But soon we will be back up to our old tricks again, I can guarantee you that. And we will work hard to corrupt JohnRoss just a little bit more. It's good for him.
I'll have more of an update about the graduation party once it gets closer, I know it will be the day of the ceremony, which ends at 11:30 or noon. Mom is just renting one of the conference rooms at the hotel she and the family is staying at.
I hate this apartment. Coming home actually puts me in such a bad mood, the place literally just makes me angry and I know it is not just the physical space, but whatever, I talked to Mom and she is also looking out for job openings in January in Minnesota so I can get out of here. Speaking of living arrangements, I also decided I am going to live with Teetz when he goes to North Carolina State University for grad school and we will watch Friends all the time and it will be glorious. I am not entirely sure he is actually going to go to NCSU, but if he did it would be wicked cool because then we could go to Duke basketball games all the time!

Damnit
I am pissed. I have to stay in this place. I know I said I was moving and not changing my mind, but I don't have much choice. It's $600 per person to break the lease and as much as I hate this place, I can't do it right now. I just have to concentrate on the fact that if I can make it until December, if I get a teaching job I will have no choice but to move out. As long as the noise is regulated and my roommates don't leave their fucking dishes laying around for a week and a half at a time, I won't kill anyone.
Watched SVU with Teetz, since we didn't get to last night or on Tuesday. Stabler got shot!!! I was worried, but I didn't think they'd be lame enough to kill him off that way and I was right. It was a pretty fucked up episode, but good, and it was a reminder as to why I watch it in the first place.

Yay
I am excited about several things currently:
1. Duke is rated #1 in the pre-season USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll. Bonus: Those baby-blue wearing losers from 8 miles down Tobacco Road are not even ranked. Oh joy.
2. I am moving out of my apartment. One way or another, I will be out and I am not changing my mind about this at all.
3. I got to "kick" someone out of the Testing Center. I am sorry, but if you can not listen to simple directions, then it is your own damn fault for being stupid. At 8:00 we always make an announcement saying that the Center is now closed and if you are going to take any more exams, you must log in now. At 8:05 this girl was trying to log in and I told her it was after 8 and that's why we make the announcement. She was like, "I was just looking at past results." Too bad, idiot. She even looked at me the whole time I was making the announcement. I really wonder how some people got into college. Seriously.

Yesterday was our second day of parent-teacher conferences and they lasted forever. We also had to have another SAT meeting for our last student of the night so I was at Belmont from 7:45 am until 8:30 pm. I got home at nine after stopping at the grocery store for a small bottle of Jack. Shona and I both needed a bit of alcohol to recovery and relax last night, so I was drinking my Jack and Coke while I cleaned Wendall's cage and unwound. It was seriously one of the longest nights of my life, but I am so glad I got to meet so many parents. It is nice when you are able to see where a child comes from, it always help to get a better grasp on why a child might then do or say the things that they do. Perfect example from a few posts back: crazy parents equal crazy children usually, and I think we all know that has definitely been proven by certain individuals we know. Luckily, none of my Kindergarten students or their parents are crazy. Ornery, yes, but crazy, no.
I am still really tired today from everything yesterday and last night, because my wonderful boyfriend who I love very much decided he wanted to go to IHOP at around 12:30. I explained over and over I have to wake up early, I should have been asleep two hours ago, blah blah blah. Finally he gives up and goes out to smoke and I fall asleep. Wouldn't you know, about half an hour later I am woken up by loud people in my apartment - something else which I have a lot to say about here shortly - so I decide, screw it, let's go to IHOP (Teetz, you cheated on me and went to IHOP with someone else, so I did the same, but IloveyouImsorry). It is about 1:15 am and I am going to IHOP, great. But we did, and when all was said and done, I was asleep by 2:00ish. I did, however get to sleep in a little bit longer this morning because we had one of our Professional Development Days (also very exciting, something else I have a lot to say about). I really need to get a lot of sleep tonight though, because tomorrow is our field trip to Nebraska City and I can not be dead-tired running around with a group of 20 elementary school kids.
Okay, the roommate situation: is it really so difficult to be respectful of those who need to go to sleep early? I think not. Fuck this shit.

The Mistake

Back in Burnett!
As I am typing this out I am finally back at my old job in Burnett as a proctor in the Arts and Science Testing Center. I am not going to be a Nazi this year because the one annoying guy who never did his job is gone and I don't have to do his for him now, nor does anyone else working here. Evenings are going to be a lot different now, which is weird. I am used to working with Sean and Tony all the time and now Tony doesn't even work here anymore and I don't think Sean and I have any similar shifts anymore. It's not busy at all right now but I am sure that will pick up next week when kids realize how close the pulldates are. It feels like I never left Burnett, and I have only been on now for the last 8 minutes (It's 4:08 as I type this right now). Of course, the reason it feels like I never left could be the fact that I practically lived here last semester, working 20+ hours each week when we were only supposed to be at 18-20 max. Ah well, I needed the money, and still do. However, student teaching is severely cutting into that.
Speaking of student teaching, today was my first day in the classroom with students, as LPS started today for grades K-9. 10-12 start tomorrow. We had three students not show up, 2 moved and one was just absent. We are getting another student though, so we will be at 17. 17 may not sound like a lot, but anyone who thinks so should come to Mrs. Rangel's room for a few minutes and see just how crowded the schools are. Then people might think a little more about donating more to the schools instead of saying they already give too much. But that's another rant for another time.
Everything else is pretty peachy right now. One of my roommates is being retarded about washing dishes, but hey, it's not my fault he leaves his set for a week or longer. I wash every dish I use, with the exception of one this entire time I have lived in this apartment. I'm not doing anyone elses dishes, we're all big kids and we can do our own and if not, then that's not my problem because I do mine right away because dishes sitting out for a week and a half at a time is disgusting.
Okay, that's really all for now, I can't wait for tomorrow. My day are going to be busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Who wants to be lazy their whole life? Certainly not this girl.

I wash every dish I use, with the exception of one this entire time I have lived in this apartment. I'm not doing anyone elses dishes, we're all big kids and we can do our own and if not, then that's not my problem because I do mine right away because dishes sitting out for a week and a half at a time is disgusting.
Okay, that's really all for now, I can't wait for tomorrow. My day are going to be busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Who wants to be lazy their whole life? Certainly not this girl.

Apartment
Okay, I know I just posted not too long ago but I realized I forgot to post a Gavin song so I am going to do that, but I also need to vent a little and the title will make sense in a few moments. So, I am in the kitchen making some dinner (yes, green beans are dinner, shut up Teetz) and we have these stupid little magnetic words on the fridge to make random sentences. This has gotten to the point where it is not even immature anymore, but stupid and lame. Through these, I have been called insignificant and stupid, thanks to one of my roommates who no longer speaks to me because I am dating Drake and Drake is his friend. The most recent stuff is downright ridiculous, and the funny part that he doesn't realize is, I have not said anything back to him. Other people have and I think he assumes they're from me but they're not. Unlike him, I am not going to have an argument on a fridge door. If he would like to speak like adults, my room is five feet from his. However, because I do not think he has the capacity to do so, as he has shown thus far, then I don't see that happening. Which is why I am going to move out. I have found some really nice places and right now it is a matter of money and being able to break the lease and all that. I may have to stay through the summer to get money together to have a place on my own, but it will be worth it. The situation is stupid and I am removing myself from it because I would rather live with or near friends than someone who is going to behave this way.

Grad School Aauugghhh
I guess I am just in blogging mode now, geez, I don't know what my problem is. So I read Teetz's post earlier about grad school and stuff, and I am disappointed to see he was not nearly as enthused about our kiss as I was. Lest he forget, he kissed me. He is never going to live this one down, I love when he does silly things I can tease him endlessly for. Anyway, grad school. I have been looking at them for a little while now, and it occurs to me that Teetz is studying a lot for the GRE, and then I think maybe I should study too. But I never study for anything so then I think I will be fine, but then I remember this will pretty much decide the rest of my life. Now, I have a little bit longer to study than Teetz, because for educational psychology I have to have at least two years of teaching experience first. However, educational psychology is not my only interest, there is so much I want to do - I want to work in special education and I also want a degree in school administration. I am going to be in school for a long, long time - which I don't mind, as long as it is not busy-work. I hate busy-work, that's all high school ever felt like to me, and I was even in all the AP and College Prep courses. I think that's why I have done fairly well in college despite my strict no-studying policy that I have enforced the last four years. So far schools I am looking at for educational psychology include but are not limited to:
1. UCLA (I enjoy LA, unlike many people)
2. UNC ( even though I hate the Tar Heels with a passion and I will wear Duke shirts every single day)
3. University of Illinois (and no, not because my boyfriend is from Illinois, but because the program is good)
4. UNL (top-notch program here as well)
This is not all because I really have not looked around at as many schools as I want to yet, this is just the beginning. In addition, I also have to look at school for the other programs I am interested in as well. It is probably a good thing I have so long to do this, otherwise you know me, I won't get anything done and I will be a cashier at Office Depot the rest of my life. Speaking of Office Depot, one of my managers is trying to set me up with a co-worker, even though we both have significant others and this has been explained to her by several employees, including me. At least my job is entertaining.
In other random news I forgot to mention before, I am still in the hunt for a new apartment. A lot of you don't know this and while I do have a pretty cool apartment right now, there is only so much shit I can put up with before I grow tired of childish antics and want to move out. Honestly, I should have lived on my own to begin with, but on the other hand if I had done that I would not have met Drake, who is a friend of Brian's. And really, I wouldn't mind living on my own so much, at least the dishes would always be clean and there wouldn't be bread crumbs on the counter for days at a time. It's not like it would be a huge hassle to move out, I still have all my boxes and shit in the closet, I would just need to rent a U-Haul because there is definitely no way my futon or bed would fit in Drake's vehicle or mine and none of my other friends have trucks. It would be worth it though, and I have found some pretty cool places. I even am calling about Highland View, but Teetz and I don't know if we can actually live that close together. I asked him about it first though, and it's not like it is my number one choice, there are a few more I also like that are not as expensive and the only thing that really might suck is the full internet bill but it would be worth it. Plus, I could walk around naked, and that's always fun. We'll see what happens.
Unfortunately at the time of this post, there are still 11 days left until Gavin and Howie. On the other hand, 11 DAYS LEFT TIL GAVIN AND HOWIE!!!!!!!!!!

Quick Update
I am in the basement of Selleck typing this right now so it is going to be quick and to the point. We don't have Internet in our apartment until Tuesday so I am forced to drive here just to quench my insatiable need for email and Facebook. The apartment is awesome, Brett and Brian are good roommates, no drama as of yet and I doubt there will be because they are two of the most laid-back guys I have ever known. Also, I changed the settings on my blog so anyone can post a comment, even if you are not a member of Blogspot. I did this originally but I guess somehow it changed because Brett said he tried to leave a comment once but couldn't. Stupid Blogspot. But all is well now and anyone can comment on anything.
Here is the update I know you all have been waiting for: The E-Mail Situation. Finally on Monday I decided what I wanted to say. It was short and simple because I really took time to figure out how I feel about the whole situation and basically I said if she wanted to talk, that was fine with me and we could, though I think she pretty much summed up her feelings on the whole thing at my birthday and then in the following email. I also said she had my number and could call if she wanted because I would be in Lincoln. The end. This was Monday and she has not responded since then, either my email or phone, so I am assuming that was not the response she wanted. I think she was expecting a whole-hearted welcome back kind of thing, which I am not willing to give because I don't think it is necessary. I guess this will be as much closure as can be had in the situation, and I am okay with that because I found out who my real friends are and that's really all anyone can ask for.
I also checked out my grades, read 'em and weep: Social Studies methods - A+; Science Methods - A; Music Methods - A; Biology - A. Not bad if I do say so myself and it's my first semester having a 4.0. Sweet. I am totally going shopping in celebration of me. Maybe Grandpa will give me my Escalade now instead of later. We'll see ;)
Okay, this is bordering on not being so quick of an update now, so I will save the random stuff for later but I will be back to normal after Tuesday when I can check my email any time I want without having to drive to campus. Also, because I am in fucking Selleck on their stupid computers that have ALL pop-ups blocked, I couldn not run spellcheck so I am sure someone will find some error somewhere. Woohoo. Peace out motherfuckers.
